| Quote wtid71="wtid71"Thought exactly the same thing when I read this. Funding a community stadium is small change compared and what a fantastic asset it would be for the city. As posted many times before rugby, football, music concerts, school events etc etc
'"
Just as a point of note I keep seeing people saying that music concerts could be held at the new stadium. It was an enviromental health stipulation of the planning permision that this would not be allowed so that is a non-starter.

| It seems completely and utterly idiotic that anyone would agree Planning permission for a stadium with a stipulation that you can't hold concerts there... especially a community stadium.... unless of course WMDC never had any intention of seeing it built.

| Having a massive white box there doesn't seem very good for the environment

| It must be a very environmentally friendly white box, I would imagine the locals would prefer the odd concert.

| Quote chissitt="chissitt"I don't live in Wakefield so I'm not really bothered, a simple question, would you have prefered them to have been built in Castleford.'"
No, I don't !!! Don't you think that Castleford have got enough with that giant fun fair they call Xscape??
Wakefield, remember, is the LEAD city within the Wakefield MDC area not a small town with a flour mill by the river.

| Quote Two Points="Two Points"Don't think the bus station was paid for by Wakefield MDC. I believe it comes under metro's funding and is in effect paid for by all West Yorkshire authorities. Ditto for the railway station.'"
I believe Wakefield bus sation is actually owned by Arriva. Cas, Ossett and Ponte bus stations are owned by Metro (Combined Authority)

| I believe you are correct. Maybe due to being built on the site of the former Savile Street Bus Depot owned by West Riding originally.

I'd love to discuss the success of the xscape and the Hepworth gallery along with Trinity walk and the ridings but I think your obvious bitterness towards the Cas council might have already tainted your reasoning, you like all Wakey fans want a new ground but surely you should base an argument for that on it's own merits and not on a swimming pool designed for the public use of the people of Wakefield and outlying districts.
