Quote: Daddycool "The council can easily borrow at very low rates. Just as Leeds for headingley and Merseyside for everton have done. Me borrowing 10 million is impossible.
Once it's built there are various avenues where we can recover the loan. Mainly yorkcourt, but even without them, the land developed as housing up there could realise 7.5 million'"
Yes the council can easily borrow the money, but Leeds have a good credit history and a sound business plan. Do you or WT? The council would be left with the debt if things go wrong.
If you have such a great plan , surely you can raise the money via a bank?
Would you accept a proposal where the council fund a stadium and retain ownership (like Salford)? I believe you have said you wouldn't and for good reason!
You know the reasons why the council cannot do as you suggest, as you are a clever business man who has worked wonders.
WT has been conned by a grubby developer, a con man and an incompetent council and that is your ,pitch to the RFL later.. RL is a sport. It is not about crowds, facilities or politics it is a game played between 2 teams of 13 people! This year you have been quite good at it!
