| Quote Sandal Cat="Sandal Cat"This is very positive and a step forward but there is still a great deal of work for us to do.
We are awaiting the draft of the new multi-party agreement which will be run past our Lawyers which will be the start of the process.
As I say, a great deal of work ahead of us but for the first time in a long while we appear to be taking forward steps rather than going backwards.'"
Any chance of us insisting on a time bound trigger as well as the square footage one?
Eg when 60,000 sq m has been let or 2 years, whichever is sooner.
As others say I still fear them not reaching the 60,000 sq m trigger but I haven't yet met anyone who can stop time!!

| The way that York Court have wriggled out of things in last 5? Years, you do have to wonder if this will make any difference.. they could build a Disneyland theme park on there and you would still worry that it wouldn't trigger anything except Roy Rodgers horse...
Oh to be wrong ...

| I want to be optimistic following todays developments but also fear that the developer who lets face it hasn't been transparent and open to discussions to date will leave us high and dry at the eleventh hour. Also WMDC will then after todays announcements be able to say they did all they could.
I really hope I am wrong

| I don't care if Box gets his moment in the spotlight as long as it gets done. He can be carried from Belle Vue to Newmarket on my shoulders on the opening day, if he wants.
I can't see Yorkcourt deliberately going bust to avoid it. Why would they? They lose everything then.
The one thing that does rankle is that there was seemingly someone at the top of the Trust side of these things, and it wasn't anyone who posts on here, we know who they are and their commitment to the cause is damn heroic, who was constantly advising to play it steady, don't rock the ship, let's just have another unrecorded private meeting, and nothing happens. As soon as a significant figurehead goes, the ship gets rocked, and things get done. Feels like we were sold dummies for a long time.

| I still have doubts that Yorkcourt will ever build enough to enforce the trigger but you have to take Box at face value and give them all the chance to come up with the goods. Lets not kid ourselves though, even if things run relatively smoothly then a ball being kicked at the stadium is a few seasons off yet. A step in the right direction though.

| Well done all concerned on here and through other sources that have raised the awareness on the issue.
Definately a step in the right direction, and as someone created a thread a few weeks ago, to echo the words said "Cautiously optimistic" of the new stadium.
Dont know if anyone on here follows Manni Hussain on twitter, and he did a retweet of the news before. To me that would indicate that he does have an interest in the club. As he is involved in property development, could he be involved with it all too. Out of interest, a few days ago I went ob their website and there is now a picture of Belle Vue on there.
