Am I being naive or doesn't it seem strange that he professes total innocence/ignorance yet doesn't want to put his side of the argument? If I were in his boots and was totally confident I'd shout it from the rooftops!

Retweeted the Indepent's article and replied to them on Twitter telling them it's an excellent article and good to see that the media finally seem to be interested in Wakefield Council. Fingers crossed enough of us do for even more papers to start picking it up.

I think the complete reluctance from anyone at the council to say why they allowed Newcold to be built outside of the original application says it all. Someone is definitely hiding something.

Good move and good letter. I know for a fact that two of them have been in that ward for years and know the full ins and outs of this whole fiasco.
I also believe that secretly at least one of them would be very sympathetic to our plight.

Their replies will be interesting and I wonder if it will be a sense of understanding decency or fairness to our plight. Or will it be a load of the normal gutless garbage due to their own self preservation in the labour party.

You all are doing a great job in highlighting the Newmarket situation in your e mails etc, just be careful guys and girls not to expose yourselves to accusations of slander.

"I do not want to distract" from your campaign but what about this for a way out for the council, they need one because as I said you lot are doing a great job at exposing this.
The council worm their way into the Glasshoughton project enticing the developer with promises of fast tracking the project through planning etc. They then announce that they are disappointed that the Newmarket project has failed, but give full backing to this project supporting the two superleague clubs in the Wakefield district. Superleague would certainly throw weight behind this.
In order to fight a battle, you need to guess what their next move may be.

Written to all 3 of my councillors (Wakefield South ward) but done it from the point of view of a resident and council tax payer rather than a supporter. Highlighted need for facilities for sport and exercise and relieving traffic congestion. Also that West York Sports and Social Club is moving in next couple of years further out from city so need facilities more than ever. Hope this may show that it is not just a rant form a supporter and that the development has wider support. Trouble is they are all Conservatives so Box can just ignore them.

Sent Box a email and guess what? He's got someone else to reply! She says there will be a 'coordinated response ' by Thursday, can't wait...
