If the player attempts to move out of the way then the attacking player still just plays the ball at them or trips over and pretends there was interference. It's a lose lose situation, but playing the ball directly at a player who isn't affecting the game by being offside is against the spirit of the game. It was obviously the Hull game plan to play for penalties as soon as they got into the Wakey half as they raised their arms after every tackle trying to claim that something had happened. They played the officials much better than Wakey did, and Wakey need to learn from that and do it themselves if they want to progress

Quite often you see an injured defender lying offside unable to get back. Under these rules the dummy half can just pick up the ball run over to the injured player, throw the ball at him and gain a penalty. It stinks and wants stopping ASAP , to me its not sport and not what the game should be about,

Yes the tactic of throwing the ball at the opponent needs to be got rid from the game.

Not only is it against the spirit of the game, it also does nothing to the game entertainment value. It is a joke as it is around the play the ball without this creeping in.

Our sport is losing interest with fans it is without making games even more scrappy
