| Quote Sandal Cat="Sandal Cat"Michael told me this morning that we would not be allowed to remain in Super League if the move ended up being permanent and we would become a Championship Club. The RFL would allow us to play there if it was temporary and there was a way back into Wakefield and Dewsbury was upgraded to meet SL minimum standards.
Hope that clears things up.
Our future as a SL side is dependant on a new/upgraded stadium in Wakefield. That is why we must continue to fight for what was promised to the people of Wakefield.'"
I would like to see the basis that the RFL would make this decision on. Is there some kind of rule that states the a club can only play their home games within the metropolitan district of the town/city that is within their club name? Sounds like bullcrap to me!

I'm glad the RFL don't want us playing permanently at Dewsbury and they want us playing in a fit for purpose stadium in Wakefield which us the trust and the club are striving for and were promised.

| I dont want us playing at Dewsbury permanently either, but a Wakefield Stadium to accommodate us appears to be pie in the sky, as it has been for the last 30+ years. But to suggest that we could be thrown out on the basis of our home ground being just outside the metropolitan district ? Id like to see where this is a specification for clubs.

Can't help but think the RFL make these things up as they go along. Why would they relegate us if Dewsbury was brought up to Super League standards? Why also would they want rid of what is probably, under MC's stewardship, one of the most efficiently run clubs in Super League?
Oh for the days of no outside interference where your league status is based upon your performances on the pitch over a season of straight home and away fixtures, one up one down, and nothing else. Return to that simple criteria and we may get some fans back.

Maybe people who would rather chop their own cockend off than vote Tory? And as if they'd be of any more use to us. Get real. Rugby isn't everything to everyone either they have other priorities

| Wakefield is controlled by people not interested in Wakefield. The sad thing is that the individuals who ARE supposed to represent the City wards don't have a backbone between them.

The sadder thing is, they don't have a majority either.

I mean even the Labour Councillors. Presume East, North and Central still are 100% Red Rosette. Don't know about Rural, Crofton & Ackworth, Wrenthorpe etc. All sit in the pre-council Labour Group Meetings looking at their belly buttons no doubt.

Perhaps we could merge and become Wakefield Trinty and Shaw Cross Sharks Rugby (Super) League Club - it seemed to work for Hudders/Sheffield and Hull-Gateshead.

Tbh I've more interest in belly's posts' than I have in politics at any level, so forgive me if I'm wrong here, but irrespective of whichever party you support don't the councillors from all the districts' which make up WMDC meet together thus rendering the minority of councillors' representing the city with their vote obsolete in the face of Mr box and his followers. which was the point I was trying to make.

Chiz
Don't forget the wards of Ossett and Horbury as well as all the Wakey wards. There are still a sizeable number of Labour Party members to make life extremely uncomfortable for Box if they chose to stand up and question his actions and motives. Problem is , Box is a bully and they are all afraid of him and put their own self interest first.
