Quote: Eastern Wildcat "Pubs are closing everywhere but not just near the ground. Ones near the ground like Forresters and Graziers hasnt been there for years.
I think there is more to it than cultures changing.
People arent going to the pub as frequently I think because of some if the priced that are charged in some. I love it in Elephant and Castle but at over £3 a pint. You then go in a Weatherspoons and can have a pint of beer for considerably less.
I mentioned before about the ground and accessibility between the North Stand and Cats bar. There is actually a building behind the north stand near the toilets that I dont think is used for much, it is small, but if the ground was to get a re vamp could this be turned into a small bar.'"
Over £3 for a pint in The Elephant compared to considerably less in Wetherspoons, is probably down to what you want to got to the pub to do?
If you want to go and get leathered watching 'freeview' in Wetherspoons, that's fine but if you want to watch the match on Sky at The Elephant, the Sky subscription is obscene in pubs, so that's why the beer is more expensive.
