Quote bren2k="bren2k"I did float this idea several years ago; a young lad from Stanley started a label called 'Own Character' that all the kids were mad for - I said at the time that that a Trinity line would go down well with the younger, more fashion conscious supporter, and would be a good link with a local business.'"
You're spot on and it's easy....
Create your own line called for example "Treize BV".
Buy a load of good quality T Shirts, Hoodies and Sweatshirts off e-bay.
Get a bunch of art students at Wakefield College to come up with six designs (first wins a £100, the rest get a couple of free tickets). Get them screen printed, it really is cheap.
Give a few away at the College so they get seen around town.
Push it at matches and on the Web and any other outlet.
Sell them in the shop for £10-£20 a piece. If they are good and catch on then bingo easy money.
It won't make the club flush but it is an incredibly easy way to make money and to adverstisethe club with little risk. If the worst happens they make great give away's and I'm sure they would sell at cost if needs be. It's called making money the easy way just requires someone at the club to make it a side project but DON'T over order, you can always go back for more. If I'd have known what a farce the new ground was going to become when we started SWAG then I'd have pushed SWAG to be more of a fund raiser to rebuild BV. When I think of the hours of hard work wasted by truly talented people (yep even me) that could have gone into improving what we already had and now don't I get truly angry. I can accept that N/M won't happen etc etc but it's the waste of our time and effort I really despise. We are all ten years older now and in my case tired and I ain't done half as much as some...anyway rant over.
