| Apologies Wakefield Supporters.
In no way did I want to say that there was bitterness towards Cas. My point was just to try and help focus on Wakefield Trinity moving forward and yes of course remind people that fans of all ages and all clubs read these forums, mostly out of interest in the game and friendly banter being part of it.

Then they should read a different thread - there won't be much friendly banter when we're discussing the fact that our club has once again been bent over by WMDC and a shonky developer; sorry kids, but them's the facts.

You do realise that it isn't the council that is selling the ground don't you?
Oh and there's absolutely no point in protesting in the city either. It will achive the sum total of nowt, in fact it will probably just give Box another stage to state his case to the vast majority of the city who, lets be honest, couldn't give two hoots about Wakefield Trinity and would agree that the council shouldn't spend a dime on us.

| Quote Barnsley Tiger="Barnsley Tiger"Hi Wakefield Supporters
I'm sorry but I feel the need to comment, knock me down if you wish but I comment in all honesty and concern for Wakefield trinity.
Everyone is 'blaming' somebody else and quite frankly some of the comments are very nasty. This site is a RL forum for all rugby supporters and young supporters of all clubs read this, Rugby league is a so called family game!! How would you feel if your son/daughter or wife was reading these vile and abusive remarks aimed at individuals.
Moderators need to take control.
As for the actual ground situation this will play out as it does and it seems that those running the club are the best group for a long long time but even they are being targeted.
We all want a club in wakefield so for what it is worth, forget about the past and who has done what, even don't be bitter towards Cas as that will not change a thing either.
COME ON move forward together you lot and get behind the club and leave the nastiness for a different venue.'"
Seriously mate, your intentions are honourable but if you think anything written on this thread are particularly vile then you need to get out into the real world more often. You hear worse popping down the shops.

Correct - in the current austere times, most people have an issue on their doorstep they'd like to see money spent on by WMDC, and would rate that above spending any money to help a private business which caters to a tiny niche market of the Wakefield public.
The WMDC part in this has not been about spending money as far as I can see - it's about them colluding with a bent developer to aid and abet in reneging on their responsibility under a UU; you'd think that would be a serious charge, but it's not any kind of charge at all unless someone has the money to make it one - which we don't.

| Quote newcat="newcat"Newmarket AND Glasshoughton was never going to happen. It just doesn't make sense to have two new stadiums that close to each other.
The problem is that many people just do not understand the resistance to a ground share. It works in other countries; it works with other sports. To be honest I can understand that view as two stadiums do not make economic sense. You can slag off Box & WMDC, but think of it logically...why would they support two stadiums? If Yorkcourt had played ball and NM was built - or being built - I suspect that Cas would be in the same position we are and GH would be a no no.
Looking ahead, I expect a spell at Dewsbury followed by a ground share at GH. We can either accept & engage with that - and hopefully get some red/blue seats at GH - or give up. I'm not for giving up and will support Wakey regardless of where we are playing.'"
I agree with others that an offer of playing at Cas is the most likely option in the future in a take it or leave it deal but i guarantee you it would be as tennants in their stadium not as equal partners. They already have their plans in place, why would they want to add seats in our colours to their stadium?

| The cas stadium will be privately owned by cas. Whether they offer us a tenancy is up to them not the council. It will not be a community stadium in the technical sense even if they like to call it one.

| A ground share with Cas would be catastrophic and we would be lucky to get 1k home supporters per game.

That's perfectly true, theirs is called a community stadium and yet it isn't, its to be gifted to them by a developer.
On the other hand the one which was supposed to be built at NM and then the purported redevelopment at BV ,where infact community stadiums in the true sense.
Yet!!!!! the council always refer to them as 'the wildcats stadium'
They know exactly what they are doing and this alone shows what a cynical set of ....s they are.

| I've tried to remain optimistic for years now about a new/improved ground but it seems to be coming to a bit of a head now and not in a way that consolidates my optimism; far from it, as a mere supporter and without knowledge of anything else that could be in the pipeline, I see a share of a stadium at Dewsbury or even worse being pushed towards Glasshoughton as the ONLY possibilities.
Is there a glimmer of hope left anywhere that we may have our own stadium once again? I think not - I think were stuffed.
