That's even more cynical than I can manage, since the potential to buy BV has been talked about for months - pre-dating BS' decision to take his bat home by quite some margin.

If MC has an opportunity to buy BV and the Superbowl, propped up by hush money from YCP, then power to his elbow; it makes all of his hard work and investment worthwhile - he can either oversee the redevelopment of the site and improve our long term prospects, or flog it with something to actually flog and recoup his investment, both of which seem reasonable. If I was in that position, I certainly wouldn't be well-disposed towards a hostile take-over by some Johnny Come Lately Aussie with no stake in the club either - it's the worst possible time to consider selling, given that the value of the asset could be about to increase exponentially.

I believe Carter has stated that the trust will be the owners of the ground, if all goes to plan.

Swag, the trust and the club etc have been working on this to try and resurrect something from the Newmarket (to put it mildly) let down. It seems to me that people who have their own agendas will never be satisfied and actually revel in the more negative side of things.

As for the reduced rent we achieved by threatening to leave, I'm totally astounded, actually no I'm not, that you see that as a negative.

I'm glad there are some sensible fans out there, voicing their support and expressing a sensible opinion otherwise I wouldn't fault Carter and Co if they said stuff it and walked away.

We've had some negative posters on here, in fact, plenty of them but, you are top of the pile.

Securing BV (or Newmarket) would be THE most positive thing that has happened to this club over the last 20 years (with the possible exception of our SL status) and it would give the club the chance to properly invest in the ground, rather than patching it up, year on year, to minimum standards, as we may have been moving.

Top your glass up a touch and make sure that it remains at least half full.
