I found it a little frustrating that he played long minutes, looked fit and fresh and was threatening all the time!
Not saying he wasn't trying for us, but he raised his game as we didn't see much of that towards the end of the season.

Better players around him and let's be honest it's a very unique and special game for him unlike any he's played in before.

It's still possibly his last game, back at Leeds, against his fellow Kiwis

I think the circumstances brought the best out of Ali, but I don't think he could keep that level of performance up for the season.

If it's true that we've signed Tupou and he's fit, healthy, and interested, I don't think we need Ali. If we haven't and the rumours are incorrect, i would sign him up for another year.

Personally i'd be disappointed if we don't give him another year. His minutes on the field may be limited these days, but he's still one of our best players on his day. If the price is right, then why not.

Whats the coaching team looking like. Could Ali be considered on the coaching side of things.

How else is he supposed to look good, it's the main part of his attacking game. I'm sure he can do the same off say Godinet - oh yeah he did.

We will never get the Kirmond of 3 years ago, injury and age have seen to that. However if he can stay fit he's still a good if no longer great line runner, still a good tackler and still a lead by example grafter. Not exactly ten a penny are they.

He could be a useful player even now but we have limited resources and areas within the team that need improving far more than we need Ali.

You sign him something has to give elsewhere unfortunately and at his age we just can't risk it where as Leeds can.
