Brian Smith is the signing of the season in my opinion, he backs himself in his beliefs, the players are looking at themselves as a privilege to play under him, which should improve their playing performances. He is totally at ease with the media and the media seems to love him, just listen to James Deighton, Phil Caplan etc talking to him, they talk like old mates which must be good for WTW to get good publicity rather than in the past when it always seemed to be about doom and gloom. The atmosphere with the supporters seems to be of optimism, although I suppose we are optimistic before a tackle has been made.

Based on the squad we have and the level of competition in Super League I think that if we made the top 6 we would be seriously overachieving. I certainly won't be judging Brian Smith on whether we make the 6 or not. Rather the level of improvement from last year and how safe and competitive we are in the League.

We don't have the budget or resources that the top 6 or even 8 clubs have.
