Quote J.T="J.T"I guess the problem is that your average supporter and even more so would be supporters don't care about which chairman is responsible for what or about balancing books/stabilising the club. They just look at what is happening on the field and how much it costs to watch and make a decision based on wether it is worth it. Unfortunately for Carter he is following 2 chairman who took risks and at times created excitement and interest in the club through whatever means. Carter is now left presiding over some of the worst performances in front of our lowest crowds paying the highest prices and there are only a couple of thousand left of us that seem to care.'"
Truth is you have to be able to do all those things and as yet we have not had a chairman capable of that. Problem is for any CEO to run a club like Wakefield there is no way around the fact that you need deep pockets and a willingness to dig into them.
Ted didn't have the cad and he didn't have the flair but he did have commitment.
Glover had flair and splashed some cash but basically didn't have the desire - he treated the club as a toy and neglected the detail.
Carter to me is a caretaker - if he has flair it's well hidden (flair doesn't always cost money) ditto cash.
If ever Trinity needed the legendary White Knight who's lurking out there it's now!
