The word your looking for is Theoretically as in we have the same number of points as the team in 4th spot, which constitutes pushing for 4th place, although theoretically we need to pull a tree up to overtake them so realistically we won't be in the top 4.
Conversely we could argue that we gave you your last tries because we gave up due to the game being lost for us.
I'm pleased though that you did not deny the 3 tries we gifted you in the first half or that the referee was quite lenient towards you in the second half while penalising us for the same infringements.'"
I was also thinking in the longer term as well as simply next week (although if you could do us a favour that would be great!), as the top 8 teams retain points moving into the second part of the season. I could actually see you beating Huddersfield next week for some reason.
Yes, you could argue that you gave up as the game was lost and we consequently rattled up a big score.
I would agree that some decisions were inconsistent and went against Wakefield, particularly around the ruck.
I don't think you would have won though! |
