Most of our improvement has come from the players finding a new found effort and desire, something which tends to come from new coach syndrome whoever in charge. Remember the much maligned James Webster did the same last year. In fact the same happened with Tony Smith in 2005 and he was useless. I believe with the experience of BS then we will continue to improve but i'm not getting ahead if myself yet, just proceeding with cautious opitimism.'"
Tbf, if Smith "only" manages the same as Webster last season, then it will be a job well done !
Having said that, his pedigree is massively better than ANY coach that Trinity have had in the last 30 years.
I don't think anyone is getting carried away, as the middle 8 will be tough for every club but, there is no doubt that
we are now competitive and our 2 best forwards (Anderson and Ali) are still to come back and maybe a couple of new players ?
