| I have stuck with Trinity through thin and thinner and have, generally, been supportive and positive about our plight.
Having just read James Webster's comments in the rugby league paper about concentrating our effort on the 8's and, basically, surrendering the next 13 rounds - I am incensed.
Despite all our past woes, I can barely remember a moment where I felt the team had 'given up' - with the possible exception of our record defeat against Cas - when the player's weren't being paid. Perhaps Mr Carter should have refused to pay the lazy so and so's on Saturday - because no team in Super League with any sort of pride, passion or heart - should be losing 80-0 - that's EIGHTY - NIL!
I have bought a season ticker religiously for years - even though I live a 150 mile round trip away from Wakefield. If we have given up on 13 rounds that I've invested in - any chance of a refund Mr. Carter? I mean, I'll come back and watch us humiliate ourselves against lower league opposition in August - but I just can't be bothered NOW, you know, when it doesn't count and we've nothing to play for.
Or better still - can you explain why I was sold a season ticket for 11 home games - when we've actually only been serious about playing in 4?
James Webster should apologise to the fans for his attitude and his teams performances - they are, quite simply, unacceptable. He aired these views before the season even started - and it's no good keep saying 'I don't want to make an excuse about the injuries - but....@ because you are actually making an excuse about the injuries.
Wakefield have always fought above their weight, have always managed to regroup in adversity and get our way out of tight situations - if we have a coach who cannot do that, who would rather roll over and submit until the wind blows fairer - then we have not got a coach that I can support.
The players should also take a long hard luck at themselves - the performances in our last 4 games have been a disgrace and a mockery to the word 'professionalism'.
I will be there on Friday, as usual, but if we put the same effort in as recently and have the same post match defeatist bull from our coach - then I will not be attending on a regular basis until said coach is GONE.
Wakefield fans - stop singing 'WTID' at matches - they have already died, it was self inflicted and the medic who should be saving them has washed his hands of it.
Ashamed and angry at what this club is becoming!

Sorry to be the bringer of anti-doom but you (and many others) are incenced over something that is just not true.
Webster has not said in anyof the articles or interviews I have seen, that he is not concentrating on the first 23 rounds.
What he says is "maybe we make a decision now to be the first team to get rid of the motto every minute matters and wait for round 24 and try and get our team nice and fit....."
He says that in response to questions of why we are performing so bad.
He doesn't say it as a statement, he says it as a shrug of the shoulders comment.
He hasn't done anything to indicate to me that he wants to throw the games from now on. He's actually doing the opposite. He could easily have rested players against Warrington and Leeds as we were clearly not going to win but he didn't. He put out the best team he could.......even though they got a tonking.
So by all means moan about his innept interview skills and PR skills; and even his game tactics as they are clearly in question, but don't use this interview as the "that's it I'm out of here" excuse.
Either turn up and support or don't. It's completely your choice. (I didn't go to Warrington so I made that choice but I'll be back again).
In my opinion, the players and I'm certain the coach are doing it tough. Confidence and fitness is low. (And in some cases skill levels are low)
They are not avoiding games, they are just not performing in games. Big difference.

| perhaps - if he didn't come across as defeatist, he wouldn't be viewed as defeatist. I don't need you to tell me that it's my choice to attend or not - I am quite capable of making that distinction myself. If you think an 80 point defeat is 'doing it tough' I would disagree - not enough effort was evident to deem it 'doing it tough' - if anything they were getting the rest you seem to feel they deserve. A 'shrug of the shoulder' comment you say - as in 'not really bothered, I don't know, why bother asking me?' - another interpretation. I have seen nothing from this coach that suggests we have the right man in charge. You will, no doubt, ask me 'if not him - who?' and, to be honest, I don't know - but another option can certainly be no worse.
I have NEVER been one to scream for a coaches head - because, generally, I have a lot of sympathy for their predicament - but James Webster is not putting out the right message about how we are going to get out of this, or what the fans can find to have faith and feel enthusiastic - that must also rub off on the players - and then it's an ever decreasing circle of 'doom' as you put it.
I expect a coach to be positive, to give out positive messages and vibes, to CARE - and I don't see or hear any of that coming from our coach.
We disagree - fine - I'm a big boy - I'm also not stupid - so please stop trying to preach to me - I have worn that t-shirt - it no longer fits mate

We are not disagreeing at all.
I agree with all the things you say above, apart from the fact that Webster has said and is intending to give up.
He isn't positive - I agree
Is he technically any good? - I've seen good signs this season....but a lot more bad.
It remains to be seen whether anything will get better before or after round 24.
