How that wasn't a penalty is just baffling.'"
I saw that so called try live and was outraged along with the 10000 other Rovers fans. Thaler had a shocker. A couple of other key decisions went against us as well, which would have been allowed by the video ref if the match was televised. These weren't shown on the highlights. I have also watched the full game back on our TV channel.
The game could have gone either way until Leeds got their final try 3 minutes from the end. By then HKR were running on empty as Leeds were throwing the ball around at will to try to get a breakthrough and the game was getting like touch rugby. Exciting but hardly structured. It was high risk for Leeds and it paid off for them - just.
We had a fullback who tried to wipe the dandruff off Briscoe's shirt instead of tackling him for his opening try in the 2nd minute and a centre who has played for us for the last 7 seasons and who jumped the line for a pastime. Watkins and Maguire exploited this weakness for 2 tries. Hopefully he won't start for us this week.
Despite what has been written by many Wakey fans in this thread, the Hull Kr forwards outplayed Leeds in the first half, matched them for the first 20 minutes of the second half and then tired and fell off tackles in the last 20 minutes when Leeds went high risk.
It should be a good game on Sunday and it could go either way, but I expect Rovers to tighten up a bit and Wakey to try to hammer us up the middle. Will be close.
Finally, I wish we still had Craig Hall - talented lad.
Good Luck.
