Remember the game very well.
First time in the stand as a kid and the fight broke out from a scrum straight in front of us.
Remember Nigel Bell running around the scrum to collar whoever it was had upset him.
At one point Mal Meninga was patrolling the sidelines trying to make sure his team didn't get beaten (UP!!).
Will never forget the cold, wet evening - great game. A great Wakefield team.

great game,we played well that night,i was at the back of the posts when they put the high kick up,i could,nt believe it when it bounced inches away from the deadline and bounced back for them to score,but I remember the 60,s when they came and it was fight after fight,the likes of vines and turner,they won the game 29-14,but they lost in the rough stuff

We scored 4 tries against them I think, no one other than Halifax scored as many tries as Wakefield di that night.
Bobby Fulton had a stand up argument with harry Gration after the match and said something like "What the F--k do you know about Rugby" to him on camera. Australia had two sent off during the game and one after If memory serves me right.

There were a number of brawls which Trinity came out well on top from, the side we played was indeed the midweek team but by the end of the tour it was mostly the Test team.

If my memory serves me correctly billy got sent off for punching brad McKay but could be wrong. Awsome atmosphere and the Aussies knew they had been in a game. Would be interesting to know the crowd, as the old girl was rocking that night.

I remember the match and I think it is the only time I've seen us play a test team.

During that tour both ourselves and Halifax managed to score 18 points past them, no other team did, not even the GB team.

I don't remember Billy Conway (my favourite player of all time) been sent off. I do remember one heck of a scrap between Jonny Thompson and Benny Elias break out in front of me. Both got their marching orders but it was one blood thirsty match to watch. The score may say we were well beaten but we gave them one heck of a match. Classic. (P.S. I'd love a DVD of the game.)

I too would also love a DVD of it, as would my Dad, as a Christmas present, as I'm sure would lots of other people who'd be willing to pay five times what it cost to make, nudge nudge, wink wink to the club!!??
