Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "The people who will buy the shirt would be those who remember the Wally Lewis era. It is not difficult to produce a shirt that at least resembles one we have worn in the past. I read it described as a retro shirt which it is with the use of cotton but a replica no.
I ask the question again why can't they at least produce something that those of us who watched Wally Lewis play resemble and yes I am having a go at the club because this is not difficult.'"
It's hard to disagree with this.
Although the new "retro" shirt is ok and ticks most of the boxes, it doesn't actually look like a Wakefield shirt.
It's as though someone pressed the wrong button when the design was put through.
Bren is right about nobody being forced to buy it BUT, if they had got the thing something close to the shirt from the "Lewis era", many of the older fans (and probably some young 'uns) would have been queuing up to buy them.
Maybe next season ??
