Richie Mathers doing the commentary on 5 Live Soprts Extra, and came across very well, with sensible analysis.
Please don't ping me for having a go at Lee Gilmour before starting the job, as I think he is also a sensible player with bags of experience, but I do think that Mathers could have been a good Assistant Coach, and also would have given us an experienced Full Back for next year.
I know he had faults at Full Back, but I'd rather see him there then Jarrod Sammut.
If he was offered it and declined, Fair enough.

Id like to see Sammut in the halfs with Smith.

I would love to see the player Sammut was when he first came to this country (Crusaders?) you know, the pirate version. I'm afraid though that that version has been coached out of him, shame.

I don't think it's been coached out of him, he's not had the opportunity to show his capabilities due to lack of game time and being played out of position, hopefully next season will change all that and we will see what he really can do for us.

Lets hope so, too good to be on the sidelines.
