It is indeed correct to state that Wakefield is a city,but as far as populations go there is a great difference between Wakefield Metropolitan Borough and the city of Wakefield.The Metropolitan Borough includes areas such as Castleford,Pontefract and many more small towns which gives it a population of over 300,000.The city of Wakefield itself had, according to the 2011 census a population of just under 100,000,whereas the population of Huddersfield was just under 163,000.

A proper cathedral city, not like these faux cities (Leeds anyone) it was also the county town of west riding and the seat of Wakefield diocese

And there you have proved my point- I wasn't pointing out the sizes of the residences- rather the snide comments being made by small minded people who can't see the irony of their bad mouthing.
We keep hearing about this wonderful rugby league family -little evidence of it online as a rule.
