It's Wakefield fans who all know that we now serve drinks and food at, what I think, is not over the top prices, and every bit of it goes back into the club. Instead they give their money to third parties who are only in it for profit. The burger van at cons club used to be inside the ground and took about 3 k a game. And paid about 200 quid!!!!'"
Hi Daddycool - thanks for doing a great job in rescuing our great club - much appreciated, can i point out one thing tho - not everyone is 100% correct in their decision making 100% of the time (i'm sure you will appreciate that) - there are 8 of us that attended every home game last year and went into the bar at the bottom of the flats - we had a couple of drinks each and at least 4 of us had something to eat. Now the charge to get into that bar has been put in place - we don't use that bar - the bar has never looked full this season and i'm guessing it's due to the charge- we can't afford the additional charge and you have to cut your cloth accordingly ( i know you are aware of this due to the difficult decisions you have had to make to save the club). Is there nothing you can do to reverse this decision (refunds to members who paid for the privilege to use this bar)- whilst i appreciate their commitment to the club - i'm guessing this was a decision that is costing the club money hand over fist.
The option of using the cats bar is not there for us either because the stewards won't let you out of there until way after the kick off(honestly alcatraz must have been easier to get out of) - i think this is why that bar is under used. if this is because people we're sneaking into boxes - then it is still easy to do - how do i pm you and i can let you know- i would not do it. I'm a season ticket holder and love my club - i bought my ticket in spite of sometimes having the opportunity to get an invite into a box. We used to drink in the bar and then go to the box just before kick off. If we don't get an invite we use the Northstand but being a 'lady' - i use the term loosely - i'm not comfortable drinking on the terraces.
I'm honestly not having a go - i wish i could have done what you have for this great club - but from a fans perspective - this may have been a decision made in haste and is just my opinion.
By the way my nephew had a pie at half time - said it was a decent pie and only cost £1.50 - he might have had peas on too but they were an additional £1.50 ???
Good luck with everything you do for the club and here's to a successful season on and off the pitch
