Quote: Smew "I was very disappointed with our first half performance at the game, but watching it back the ref had a shocker which put us under enormous pressure. I'm not a ref basher normally and players must take responsibility, but I hope this is not the standard we are going to get just cos we are a lower table team'"
Ref had a 'mare, and is consistently the second worst ref in SL. Thats a separate issue that the RFL need to address.
As far as our performance goes - it looked like a pre-season performance involving players that are yet to adapt to each other. Bradfords advantage was they still had the nucleus of a decent team that had already gelled. In spite of all the mistakes on display, I was encouraged by the effort and tenacity shown by Wakey - there is something there to build on!
Some of the knock ons were due to the receiving player not reading Godinets pass - on occasion he 'double pumped' it which fooled both defenders and receivers!
Lynne needs to grow a pair - he didn't back himself to take advantage of a knock on in the first half, he should have protected the ball rather than himself when he gifted Bradford a try and his kit stayed suspiciously clean right until the end!!
All in all, disappointing but not panic stations just yet - they need to quickly assimilate a few 'go to' plays on the practise ground, try them out against wigan and then look for a win in the match after (wigan might just be a little too much to ask for, but you never know....)
No good kicking Agar out, he's had at least two decent teams sold from under his feet while he's been in charge and is doing OK with the hand he's been dealt.
