| no big loss for me, apart from the squad gets smaller and smaller,
if mc would start announcing some signings maybe we could sell a few more st.
before long fans are just gonna give up on the club.

| Of the players Trinity have lost he is the least integral. His effort and enthusiasm will be missed and so will his kick returns and carrys when the forwards are having a breather. His brain farts not so much, and if Trinity have got a decent fee for him then its good business.

| At least Mellars has gone, another chunk of our outgoings gone, quite sad to see Ben going, his kick returns must have been hard work for opposition wingers/centres.
We must now be getting to the cut off point regarding player sales, I'd assume that getting rid of Poore, Mellars and Ben Cockayne's contracts we must have shed £250,000 from our wage bill.

| Its hard to knock his commitment. He made the best of his ability and took some pressure off the big guys running from half back. Found out too many times in defense, it hardly comes as a suprise though, hopefully an anouncement of 'that the last one and its time to start building' to follow. Shame to see him go but chance for someone else, possibly Reece Lyne on the wing?

| Can live with this one. Couldn't fault his effort or finishing but can be costly in defence.

| While I agree Ben is probably the least important loss in terms of actual ability lets not forget his spirit and fight which I think would have been important in arguably our hardest SL season.
He would have definitely been up for it next season and I was hoping he might stay.
Oh well, lets hope we don't have to sell anyone else and we get a few players coming our way soon

| Losing Ben is a loss to us. His effort and enthusiasm were second to none and he has that bit of mongrelm in him that would have been priceless in a relegation battle. Yes he had the odd mistake in him defensively but he chewed up many meters going forward and bagged plenty of tries. He deserved his knights called up and was a popular bloke in the dressing room, integral to the much-lauded team spirit we had generated. He'll be missed.
All that said i'm more annoyed about Liam Kaye leaving. What the point in bringing through the kids through the ranks to the first team, watch them have some success there and then offer them an pittence to stay, leaving them no real alternative to leave so they can make a living wage. Makes the club 1873 an utter waste of time, i'm not paying in so other teams can reap the benefits.

Been released by 'mutual consent'. I guess we must have giving some form of pay off, doubt he will have walked for nothing.

| In the current economic climate, we are doing well to realise any transfer fees for the players that we have sold.
Even though there is undoubted quality in the likes of Poore, Charlie, T.Smith and Aiton, it's quite unusual for teams to pay transfer fees.
Does this mean that the respective new clubs feel that they have each got a bargain ?

And also players we haven't paid a transfer fee for, so it could be argued turning £0 into £200k plus is something of a business success in the present climate and our present situation.
I'll add the caveat that i'd prefer to not be in such a situation but we are where we are and for the reasons we are, best to make a positive out of it though.
