the club need big investment, not supporters digging deep.
it was hardly a dragons den speech was it
on reading it..................... would you invest??
hope your good bye the way'"
All SL clubs need big investment as the paying game does not pay the bills, that is a sad indictment of our game.
Numerous clubs have struggled just in the recent past.
Sky TV have lamented all night about Ken Davys millions spent on achieving tonight's LL success which will be largely forgotten about by the start of next season if they don't go on to bag the grand final too.
As for the speech, it was made as quickly as we could have hoped and its given us some answers and something to get behind. Another poster has suggested it was too much, personally I don't think it was half as insightful as it should have been but that's just me.
Following the release from AG a few weeks back re cash flow but everything's fine, I'd like to here his views on what he's overseen lately and weather or not he feels he's let the supporters down as much as the (ex?) CEO has, or weather he feels equally as let down as us.
As for investment if I had squill ions in the bank (like Al has) I would love to, if I had plenty in the bank but I couldn't afford to lose it; it'd be highly unlikely.
One thing is for sure what money we have had hadn't been used half as wisely as it should have been, but the discounted STs haven't helped (something I've been banging on about for ages).
It's a tough call and a tough job, but we need tough people making the tough decisions not too jokers having a who's got the biggest twitter following competition, back slapping their way through countless CCJs and cash flow problems.
We also need supporters to back the efforts of the club in yet more tough times, not walk away because they don't agree or feel let down (again!!)
