I do wonder about players as assets actually.
I seem to remember from many moons ago, when I studied accountancy (badly) that players weren't regarded as assets on a clubs balance sheet but if they can realise a value there must be something in the contract itself that is of value on a BS.
The value of a club like ours this year with everyone on contract is more than the end of next year when half the team are off contract.
Problem is they are only a value if someone makes a bid, so it is argueable whether they are of any value before that point......and in addition, who could estimate the value.
Any accountants on here who know that?
