There is a pub straight across from the exit to Wakefield Westgate train station,called The Elephant and Castle,they do a nice drink.
I would call there and get directions,as you are a couple of miles from the ground,and there are a few 'left and rights' involved to get there.

There's a new pup not far from Kirkgate station that does food at a decent price plus real ale, The Ruddy Duck, which is at the Wakefield end of Doncaster Road and then its only a short walk to the ground, plus plenty of other boozers in the city centre.
