Quote bren2k="bren2k"It was obvious to anyone with eyes that Mathers was our stand-out player; despite that, a few old lags behind me were still bagging him. He did all the things that some people will have you believe he can't or won't do in defence, then joined the line and tried to get things moving in attack. When we were behind the sticks after conceding yet another soft try, he was berating his team-mates and trying to get them organised, and one of said old lags shouted at him to stop yelling and start doing something. Stunning!
As for Sammut - he was opportunistic and it came off for him, largely because up the middle, we tackled like U8's.'"
Totally agree in fact apart from aitons tackling mathers was the only stand out player - caught all the high bombs, made the tackles he had to one on one and gave it his all - you cant please some people after all DONT confuse me with the facts my mind is already made up!!
