Some people do place experiencing new challenges before the purely monetary aspects of life.
If the financial side of things are not vastly inferior I can see why he would want to play over here.
Anyway, he does seem to have made a good impression.
If his on field performances match this he will do for me .

Not sure what to think when Aussies/Kiwis come over here and effectively declare themselves for England/other home nation before they have even played a game in SL.
To me it seems a bit pre-emptive - it could be considered confident but could also be seen as arrogance that playing for England is something that is quite easy to achieve.
If somebody has asked him the question directly and he has answered it then fair enough but i always feel a bit meh when players talk about international ambitions before they have proved themselves over here.
Obviously hope he lives up to his ambitions though.

Haven't read anywhere else but the audio interview that's posted on the first page, the interviewer asks him, would he ever fancy playing for England because he's qualified and tbh he was pretty noncommittal saying he wouldn't rule it out but would consider it if he was asked, from the way he was speaking it didn't sound he had given it a right lot of thought. |
