I have a feeling, more than being about the first fixture, it was more about getting people to follow official club accounts on twitter... not sure how successful it has been.

Either way, at 2 of our early fixtures are winable

I don't see any need for negativity - it's fairly obvious that the RFL and clubs are trying to increase the profile of RL on social media, so this was a way of enticing more people to follow their respective clubs on Twitter; not the best executed strategy, but hardly a cause for anxiety.

It does have an inkling of the hopeful about it - if the governing body and the member clubs are going to work together on more positive marketing of RL, that can only be a good thing; provided that both learn from these early experiments and get better, then I send power to their elbows.

He's right though, there's a fair amount of overkill used to describe fairly mediocre stuff.

Same as last year then, lets hope the scoreline is better than last time round!

That seems to be the case across all forms of media in the increasingly rubbish modern world, where everything is 'amazing' or 'incredible' and everyone is either a 'genius' or a 'legend.'

If they'd have said, "Watch Twitter at 12 noon tomorrow for some vaguely interesting news," it may have been more truthful, but it would hardly have garnered the same attention!

Its called marketing live with it, I would rather queue at the Ceder Court for what we got than go to the Old Cats Bar listening to some of the points of the previous regime. At least the club is making every effort to move forward so either be part of it or not its an individual chioce but for all positive things there is always a negative somewhere.
