| Quote King Street Cat="King Street Cat"When are the RFL going to learn that to expand the game we need to do more at International level?
How many neutrals watch Cricket, Football and Rugby Union at International level but not at club level? Newcomers who have no idea won't just attach themselves to a Rugby Leage club because it is local to them.'"
They have tried that though, with the Exciles game and the two series that we have just had- I would say there has been limited success besides the fact England have been pinpointed as the best International side in the Northern Hemisphere. Doesn't do much for the game when we are demolishing Wales and France (who put up a fair fight I might add).
Hopefully the World Cup will energise the game in our game!

We should go back to Great Britain at the international level too.

I am intrigued to know why?
Which current Scotland and Wales players would displace any of the those that represent England? Regardless of which shirt they're wearing it will still be the same group of players that currently turns out for England, but without the Sport England funding.

| Sorry folks but IMHO, there seems little doubt that a further French team, plus a Welsh side will be in SL at the earliest opportunity, its just a case of when.
The more pressing question for us, is the future structure of SL. ie number of teams and criteria for being included in the top flight.
WHY cany the RFL have the guts to tell folk what the master plan is and how it will be acheived.
The game is short of income and there does need to be some thought as to how it can best attract investment/sponsorship, but for the cynical ones amogst us
is is difficult to see a balanced and fair plan coming any time soon.
Also, withouth significant change, it os difficult to see how a CC club could get themselves ready for SL with the gap in quality and spending power that is present
between the 2 leagues.

I don't think our game is large enough to support England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, I certainly don't think there is enough fan interest for all the teams, the average attendance is less for recent England games than for the Wildcats!
I would like to see one team that picks the best of what was born on our small island, forget the likes of Chase who clearly aren't British, and try and put some pride back in the competition and the shirt. Unite the fans and players under Team GB and make a team that can hope to compete rather than four diluted ones.

I have no interest at all in either of those and wouldn't travel to watch the games there, just like they wouldn't bring any/many fans up here.
RL needs taking back to its roots, main focus being the M62 corridor and P&R!

Although I agree with your sentiments, I dont think the reasons for poor attendances have anything to do with us not having a GB team.
The current Autumn series is just too predictable and there are effectively 4 non-contests which is due to the Aussis and Kiwis not wanting to play
this year.
Apart from a get together amongst the players, its difficult to see what was to gain from putting 3 mis-matched teams out on the park.
Also, totally agree about the inclusion of Chase, it just makes us look desperate and i'm not sure iht helps Chase either.
