| Eastmoor Dragons under 12’s were beaten in an entertaining close game by Batley Boys 30-18 in the BARLA cup at the weekend. Half way through the second half the Dragons just got their noses in front at 18-16 and looked like they were going to go on and take the spoils. Credit though to Batley who came back strongly to progress to the next round. Eastmoor just ran out of legs towards the end as we only had 13 players, with a couple of those lads picking up injuries during the game and bravely playing on.
The East Leeds v Crigglestone game looks like the tie of the next round – should be on Sky!
All the best to all teams for the next round

| Quote braytontiger="braytontiger"In typical rl style it's organised to perfection with it been the first weekend of the school holidays.

And, at our age group at least, after playing on Saturday all season, we're now forced to play this match on the Sunday; the football season has just started and they play their games on, you guessed it... Sunday! A difficult situation for the lads who play both sports.
Does anyone know why jr RL switches to Sunday at U14?

Seems a bit daft.
I think that nationally, there's a big drop off in participation in jr rugby at U14's; that'll be down to the clash with football. Lots of lads lost to the game because they've been forced to choose between rugby or football, for no good reason.

| Great game this morning between Stanley 7s and Birkenshaw finished 4 all, some great defence from both teams especially the smaller less developed visiting team. That draws the curtain on my first season as a spectator and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Not sure what I am going to do next year when I have one in the 7s and one in the 8s will have to split myself in 2.

| Sandal Spartans came back from 20 nil down with just 18 minutes remaining to beat West Hull 22 - 20.
A combination of bad luck, poor execution and quality opponents who took their chances well gave the Spartans a mountain to climb. Playing up the slope with the wind in their faces Sandal found something special when defeat looked almost certain.
West Hull were a credit to Junior Rugby League not just in how they played but also in their conduct after the nature of their defeat.
