| Whilst both sets of fans enjoy the one upmanship that we occasionally get to experience surely now is the time we should be thinking about what's good for Rugby league and I for one would hate to go through a season where there was no Wakefield Cas game, but whilst we hold the trump card next years Game at our place we are having the north stand GET IT.

Majesticaly wrong and mis informed on the first bit, but then it's easy to knock things down after the event Thornes was viable and in many ways is still better option than NM and way better than Durkar which has been explained on here many times was never an option - not ever - not even when Ted or Rodney miraculously owned it (which they never did but hey why ruin a good story)
The thing that did for Thornes was an all mighty recession - it's still going on I believe.
No public project as ambitious as Thornes would survive that. Yes there were NIMBY issues and other bit's and bobs not least who actually owned the land but they could be overcome - a total hold on public spending could not. The minute Northern Rock hit the rocks Thornes was over - had Thornes started two years earlier it might just have limped through a bit like Trinity Walk did.
Go on then, tell us who put a stop to Durkar?
However NM is it, last option - year zero so fingers crossed.

I wouldn't of thought that traffic connections would of been a problem as it could of been directed both ways form the ground and would of split at each end of the road making it far easier than it will at Newmarket,
parking now that puzzles me as there would of been more access to walking there than Newmarket so wouldn't of required the same size but could still handle the quantity.
to think that all sports would of been covered in one fantastic complex just baffles me why it never managed to glide through
Durker is very similar to Newmarket
still not be long not eh !!!

Correct. I live in Allerton Bywater, pay rates to Leeds, have a councillor on Leeds Council and my son goes to a Leeds school. Also a Leeds Phone number, but WF post code. All of Allerton Bywater is in Leeds. Cas starts at Lock Lane.

| As soon as you leave Lock Lane going towards Allerton Bywater you cannot get away from the fact you are entering Leeds soil due to the Leeds City Council signage - owls coat-of-arms imediately when leaving Castleford. I would love Cas to put a sign the other way (entering Cas Vegas) with a Tiger badge welcoming our loiner friends to the town.
