Quote: jacques "Talking of busing people to the match I remember, in the fifties and sixties certainly, a long row of buses outside Belle Vue after the match, ready to take people to town.
Anyone any idea when this ended and did they go further than town?
I always wanted to catch one, but dad made me walk as we lived near Kirkgate station.'"
I remember this to a lesser extent in the 70s but ultimately this died when the average family had a car. I remember on my street there being 3 cars across 10 houses. Now every house has at least 2. No one will be using the buses so no need to put them on.
Now it's more important to get parking space.
