Me 3 along with the other 3 people i go with will be getting ours at the end of october.

I'd like to think quite a few uni students would be in a similar position to myself where having not much money over the summer waiting til loans come in around about now (some being late etc) I shall be purchasing mine very soon so can imagine a few concessions would be bought next few weeks

Also last year the club offered an incentive to renew early through money off vouchers on a replica shirt. £10 before the end of august and £5 before the end of september iirc. Without that incentive this year more people will just leave until the last minute. And probably not bother buying a shirt.

People have got to start getting used to paying the clubs way.
If less than £10 per game from your ST is not incentive enough i don't know what is.
Maybe the club should let us all in for nowt and chuck a pie and a pint in too!!!
People of Wakefield, if you want a club as much as Andrew Glover clearly does, get off your buttocks and spend some money, otherwise his time and money and what is supposedly YOUR club are gonna eventually go down the pan and it will be YOUR fault!!!!

Sorry, it did sound like a rant i know, but it wasn't (sort of)!!!
This club will not survive on £100-£125 season tickets and cheap merchandise.
If you want it you've got to be prepared to support it (supporter, you see?) with your money.
One of the reason big clubs are big clubs, is because they have (usually) more people spending more money and the club using that money wisely, on players or schemes to generate more cash.
Its so basic, but I'm amazed how many people don't get it.
We need every penny in order to catch up all the wasted years, the club are doing their bit AG has done more than his bit, now in true Delia mode "Come on where are you, lets be having you!?!?!?!??!".

Wakfield are not a big club. But this is only because we don't have big club crowds. When we are pushed we all seem to get behind the club and defend it to the hilt.
If we buy tickets, we won't have to.

I agree with Kinley, it is a no brainer to get your ticket at the vastly reduced price and support AG in all he is trying to do with the club. The results from 2012 show the direction the team are going so with our support next season will see the upsurge of people in the ground.

Saying that, it is unfortunate that not everyone can shell that out in one go, even if it is a good deal. Sometimes that's just the way it is.

I agree, but my point was a lot of people will keep their money in their wallets until they really have to part with it unless to give them a good reason not to. Now don't get me wrong the ticket is great value and for the record I got ours whilst passing the shop last week as it was more convenient to do so but if I hadn't been passing i'd have waited a bit too.This year their is no difference getting your ticket on the 31st october as there was the 31st august, so people will wait until the later date, its human nature to do so. If the club want the money earlier then there has to be an incentive to do so or it just won't happen. I don't doubt come this time next month the shop will be rammed full of people getting them before the deadline and the club will hit the 4000 target. But the late rush was always going to happen this time round as the deal is set up that way.

The shirt voucher worked as people paid their ticket money earlier and had extra incentive to get a shirt and not waste the discount. It also increased the gap between paying for the tickets and paying for a shirt or two. Now most people will pay for their ticket at the end of october and maybe not have enough funds available to get the new shirt just a few weeks later, thus meaning a delay in getting the money into the club again. They may get it eventually but if the club wants the money earlier then, again, they need to make it worthwhile the supporters spending the cash earlier than they might do otherwise.

Absolutely right - human behaviour is influenced by incentives; as it stands, there is no incentive to buy before the end of October or a disincentive not to, so very few will.

A useful addition might be an incentive + scarcity value; for example, the first 4000 ST's sold are numbered; those numbers are drawn from a hat at every home game and the winner receives a special prize - doesn't matter what it is, sponsors can be tapped up for spot prizes as the season progresses; who wouldn't like to be in the 4000 club!
