Hello. Relatively new to rugby league and have only been going to games for a couple of years. I'm hooked now but don't know much of the history of the game. I was wondering if clubs have developed certain reputations for their style of play. For example in football certain teams have a reputation and tradition of playing one touch football with flair. Do the same reputations exist in rugby league and if so how would Wakefield be viewed historically??? (sorry for bringing football onto the forum by the way!).

Castleford used to be known as Classy Cas, because they aspired to play attractive, passing rugby. It's a bit of a stretch now.
Bradford just like to see big muddy blokes ploughing up and down a big muddy pitch. They even like to put big muddy blokes on the wing to keep the look.
Leeds like players who aren't up to much physically, real fancy dans (just throw a cigarette paper at Danny McGuire and see what happens), but you've got to keep West Yorkshire's glory hunters happy.
Wigan and Huddersfield like to play Greco-Roman wrestling between passing phases.
Hull flatter to deceive.
Wakey are like wasps, in that we are the club that everyone just wants to see go away, but we never do. We are real pests.
