Devasted to hear this news, Francis was a massive Trinity fan with a fountain of knowledge of our fantastic club. Will always feel honoured and privileged to have shared his company and heard his comments, anybody who knew him would know he was never scared to offer his opinion.

Was in the pub lastn night expecting to have a chat and a drink with him while watching the match last night to be told the terrible news.

R.I.P Francis a lovely character and a good friend.

A gentleman and a true Wakefield character. Always great company, a fantastic man. What sad sad news. Francis loved his sport, he was a very good cricket player in his youth and was extremely passionate about all things Trinity. Never shy of offering an opinion, he will be missed. If you ever find yourselves in The Redoubt and wonder into the little snug bar on the left as you come through the front door, have a look above the bar and you will see a photo of Francis, a good opportunity to toast a Wakey legend.

I didn't know Francis that well but he was quite a figure head who you would allways notice at the games and was allways happy to chat about Wakefield I saw him in the priory quite a few times. This is very sad news and hes a huge loss.

Shocking news. I knew Francis and he was indeed quite a lively character. Was once offered a chance to buy his volvo! His son was also in my year at Becketts.

Terrible news for what has been a difficult time for the family recently.
