Quote Bully_Boxer="Bully_Boxer"The wage bill will be massively reduced next year even if we retain SL status. We currently have 17 or so players coming off contract. I'd be surprised if we retain people like Elima for instance. The only players of any value are probably the young players like Bateman and Whitehead that we have spent a lot of time, money and effort in bringing through to 1st team. Anyone investing in the club with any sense will be looking to re-build the club around those players. If we don't get a firm offer pretty soon I expect there will be little choice but to flog the likes of Bateman and some supporters will get what they've been hoping for.'"
There are 2 things here.
Yes, your club has invested time and money in training/ improving players, but it was money that they couldn't afford.
Secondly, the bitterness that comes from many fans on this forum is due to the fact that the RFL are certainly helping the Bulls plight more than they were willing to assist our own.
Do you not think that Wakefield had put time and effort into the likes of Ferguson and Murphy.
There was no advance money from Sky, to allow us to pay wages and keep a strong squad together, never mind the initial 700k loan from last season and the awarding of a licence to a sinking ship.
Your club has enjoyed some excellent success and had carried on paying grand final wages to a basement team.
As RL fans we would like the Bulls to survive but, the double standards that are applied to clubs within SL are an utter joke.
We have become a sport without principle.
