Quote: Uptoncat "Smith is a class act. Give him the choice of 3 runners and 9 times out of ten he will pick out the right ball. Smith has been trying all season but if he's only got one runner to pass to then its either that or keep hold yourself. A lot of credit on Saturday must go to Sykes as well who performed very well at 6.'"
Completely agree. Apart from maybe Hull KR at home given the right platform to work from he normally comes up with something for us. He will only ever be as good as his runners and at times this year (normally in the 2nd half of games) he hasn't had any.
Just watched the game back for the first time. At the game I thought after a shaky start our top 3 players were Smith, Sykes & Raleigh. On reflection I think I was not far off but Aiton was once again outstanding in defence and for the 2nd week running we looked a lot more solid when Bluey was on the field. His tackling technique is second to none and looking at him on the re-run, I'm sure he could do more minutes, maybe when we get a full quota of props back it will help.
