| Quote bren2k="bren2k"The one thing that Moore never seemed to get used to was the speed of SL - I liked him a lot and thought he had a touch of the Broughy about him, but he got often got caught in possesion when he was shaping to kick and, due to his slight build, was very easily dominated in the tackle.
As much as I would have liked it to be otherwise, perhaps he's one of those players who looks good at Championship level but is just not good enough for SL?'"
As I said, I'm not sure Moore is/was the answer - but seen as he is effectively the player we have shipped out to make way for John he's the one who keeps cropping up.
Maybe if Moore had been afforded the security of a 3 year contract and a full time environment with proffesional back room staff then he would have had more of a chance to develop into the next Broughy - rather than piling on pressure for him to prove his worth in a handful of games.

I suppose the fact that he's still at Batley would suggest not - if he had that potential, it's likely that another SL coach would have spotted it by now and be giving him exactly what you've described.

I'd much rather have Ben Black than Moore

Don't worry about McGoldrick, Jimmy offered him a deal and Goldy told him to stuff it.
Goldy says he is not prepared to commit to 3 years with our club

| No doubt someone will have mentioned this in the earlier pages of this thread BUT a half back is on a hiding to nothing if he's playing with a slower and lighter set of forwards vs a speedy and big, aggressive opposition. In this case, both halfbacks are shut down and are unable to make breaks in the 5metres they end up playing in. Isaac John skippered a very good Auckland Vulcans side in last year's Grand Final- that day the NZ Warriors had the 1st team, the seconds (Vulcans) and the U21s in the GFinal. Isaac did not become a poor player overnight, nor has he forgotten how to play. Rather, his forwards are quite unlike those at the Warriors who are big, fast and mobile from a standing start AT ALL LEVELS in the Warriors club. OK< Jason Dimetriou did point out that Isaac wasn't yet the finished artice, and he's right. That said, he is a very good player who is unable to show his worth. Fingers crossed for tomorrow vs Cas.
