FWIW I'm confident we have the raw product of an international here.

What we have to do is support his transition & development at every stage.

With Tony Kemp's recommendation to add to that of Henry Paul, Monty Betham & Hull FC that's quite a good list of referee's to call in. I wish I had similar people in my field to call in on my CV!!!

If any WT fan's haven't already check out the games on the NSW cup site (too lazy to post a link!- it's Saturday!) I'd advise in doing so!
IJ plays a good creative game, albeit in the #13 role & has a decent kicking game with ball in hand- something we lacked since Broughy left! He'll blossom at #6 IMO.

From the info the club has posted out/ what Isaac has posted on twitter; his transition seems to be seamless. His visa was relatively quick, he was impressed with pictures of his house & was greeted at the airport by the clubs most senior staff. Even the most "down to earth" WTW fan must see this is a world away from where we were 2 years ago. Take Shane Tronc (my favourite #8 EVER!) and how he was treated by TR et al. Sickening to say the least!

"The Glover approach" seems to be doing the business & I'm confident, that with our rapidly recuperating reputation & long established history, we'll be a big draw from player & sponsors in years to come.

As far as IJ goes (and I'm willing to be quoted on this at a later date!!): In 18 months we'll be worrying if we can get him to sign an extension to keep the vultures (giants) away, this lad has the potential to be as good as Henry Paul IMO.

Once a Sandal Wild Cat always a Sandal Wild Cat.

Some talk of Bradford Northern and some of Hull and Leeds
Of Wigan and St Helens and such great teams as these
Of all the teams in Rugby league with me you will agree
The best team in the whole wide world is Wakefield Trinity!

Bring back the British Coal shirts for 2012

Come home Steve Georgallis & Nigel Wright

Quote: asmadasa "I agree. I was at a wedding and watched the match on SKY. a few observations from a concerned supporter.

1. Southern seems to have what resembles a beer belly which in the 1970s & 1980s was acceptable for a second row or prop but for a 2012 Super League full time professional it is not. He is not on the pitch enough and although can tackle seems to do little else. Bad choice for captain. When you're team is playing crap like they did last night then its the captain and other experienced players that should come to the fore but Southern wasn't even on the pitch if he was then he hid.

2. Aiton does not run from dummy half anywhere near enough and thats how London got a roll on sometimes from dummy half. We're also not turning players onto their back enough to slow the play the ball down.

3. As for defending kicks Fox was isolated under the high ball and appeared to be weak in that area with a standing jump. There should be the centres/second row blocking runners and giving the wingers protection. Cockayne dropped a high ball for a try aswell.'"

Southern looks to have been bulked up. Maybe with the thought of him playing prop??

With regards to Aiton, it is far easier to go from dummy half when you forwards are on top and get a bit of a roll on. Ours werent at any point.

I have watched Fox and he is not great under the high ball when they are warming up never mind in a match situation. Having said that, if the kick is good the attacking winger should always be favourite.

On paper, we have a better squad than London, Salford, Widnes, Castleford and Bradford. Yet I doubt that we will finish above all of these. Glover has spent a lot of money on players, whereas Cas haven't in fairness. We need to start performing, because the squad does have glimpses of quality, or else Agar could be on his way out at the end of the season.

how do you know how much each club has actually spent on players? Just an assumption i presume.

Cas probably haven't recruited as heavily as it has probably cost them a bit to keep the current man of steel

Regarding the original thread title, the win against Catalan really put a spanner in the works.
