Quote: FIL "A few weeks ago, someone on here recommended MYPREMIUM.TV for watching live Sky Sports for free. I tried it (with varying degrees of success) and have managed to watch a few Superleague matches over the last few weeks. Tonight I logged on to watch the Wigan/Warrington match, but had only got a few minutes into the match when suddenly the game went off, and I got a large message in the centre of my screen, allegedly from the Metropolitan police, claiming that they had detected illegal activity on my computer and that my computer was locked, and I would be prosecuted unless I paid a fine within 24 hours.
Sure enough my computer was locked, and the only way of getting out was to open the Task Manager (CTRl + Alt +Delete), and shut the computer down that way. I tried re-booting, but the message just kept popping back up every time.
Suspecting something was not right, I went on the laptop and googled this issue and discovered that it is a malicious virus which is basically a scam to relieve you of your hard-earned cash !!! (Suffice to say some people paid the money to try and avoid being prosecuted, but after paying the money.. surprise, surprise the threat was still there !!!)
The virus is called the Metropolitan Police Ukash Virus (google it for yourself), but there are others too, and apparently they are rife on the internet, mainly on free tv websites such as MY PREMIUM. TV.
It has taken me 2 and a half hours to finally delete the thing and get my computer back to normal again (download free MALWAREBYTES, run it, and then do a SYSTEM RESTORE).
Suffice to say I will not be watching any more "free" matches on the internet, and will just have to revert to getting the sister-in-law to tape them for us, and watch them at a later date.....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!!!'"
its easier to use a mate who has a sling box... perfect pictures and legal ish lol
