| Thought Ellis's defending was imense in the first half. He made the first four tackles in the game.
His distribution was good, apart from one forward pass and I am sure he will be better with quicker play the balls, (they were very slow today), and the regular half backs.

| It was a pretty dour affair, but it served a purpose; certainly demonstrated that of the young players that some people demand Agar includes in the first 17, many are not ready.
Having said that, Trout ran hard, Slater was impressive and Walshaw is full of promise, despite making some dodgy decisions.
A decent work-out - well done Batley.

I think this is an important point to note. A lot of our kids have bags of potential but are probably a year away from being able to compete at the top level. A glut of injuries early on this year and we will struggle, the kids need work over the next 12 months to prepare them. If they got thrown in now it would be detrimental to their development.

| who took the pass from the Amor break in the 1st half? I had it as 21 the Batley fan I went with said 2 whoever it was he lacks any pace it was try time.
Think the young lads put in a good effort but must say I expected more from Mariano,Ellis,Tony and Wood and I will say it again Raleigh is never a prop and I have real doubts if Wilkes is add Johnson and we have 3 back row forwards in the front row that will be exposed in SL and Agar must address the lack of grunt in the pack
9 first team squad players in today with 3 of our so called front line props who were out muscled to be honest Batley well worth the win

You were correct it was Wildie who made the break. Don't agree with you regarding Wilkes, he's an out and out prop these days and Johnson is getting there but Raleigh i'd definatley agree with. But its fair to say another prop should be a priority becuse of the the back ups Trout looks better it the back row and Spiers looks way off superleague level at present.

it was Matty Wildie who took the pass from Amor and he isnt exactly slow and definatley does not lack pace, these are rugby players not 100/200 meter sprinters the guy who caught him only did because Matty was trying to run round the full back and the player got him running back it was a great tackle. Oli ran the ball in well, the only prop that didnt stand up well was Raleigh who from what ive seen which is only 2 games so not enough to base a proper opinion on him as yet. The rest of the kids did well anyone know who the number 14 was? small kid but had alot of power! hope some of these guys get some time out on Dual reg in the championship and league 1 just for some proper game time not reserves rugby.
