Why on earh would a big city club like Wakefield with our rich and long history of cups, silverware and some of the games most enduring and prominent characters view a village team like Castleford as their "cup final"



We love to to beat you that's a given but taking the relative potential and historic size of the two clubs into consideration it's a fascination similar to a young kid burning spiders with a magnifying glass.

We've been under funded for years, bounced from one disaster to another, failed to capitalise on periodical seasons of resurgence, survived false dawns at the hands of conmen, play in reputedly the worst ground in the game and yet with all that we're only a couple of hundred short of your clubs average attendance.

You cling onto that little crumb of comfort if it makes you happy cos it won't be there much longer and might even be taken away from you this very season.
