Quote: vastman "Oh come on, you have a cosy drink with him and you take his word verbatim. I can think of few players more adept at getting good deals for limited talent and questionable loyalty than Korkidas. This player has done exceptionally well out of Trinity and SL. If he's been treated like meat and he clearly has not it's Kobi beef. Please spare us the sob story, there are players in RL like there are people in all walks of life who get shafted, this individual IMO is more a shafter.'"
i don't usually comment on korki stuff but because you are so far off the mark i thought i would tell you a few honest facts.
1) korki was approachd by snowie at a junior rl game. he enquired what korki would be doing next year, another guy asked if he was going to london. korki just replied no. the facts are that london approached korki the day after sam obst was sent to hull by the administrator,. they wanted him to go the next day. korki told hem he wasn;t interested , he wasn't jumping ship. thats a fact. i actually told him he should have gone. they approached him again but he didn;t take up the offer
2) your comment that korki has done very well out of wakefeld, not quite right either. first year korki came to wakey he was on very low money, 2nd and the 3rd average. when he came back via hudds, because of the way contracts had been done between cas and hudds and then wakefield and hudds, wakefield finished up with a very good deal, costing wakey less than most in the first team squad. plus his lack of injuries, a handful over the years, means we haven;t been paying for him sat in a treatment room
3) don't see how you can doubt the lads loyalty. he has played over 170 games for wakefield. i can testify to the fact that he has played through injury , taken injections when injured sometimes as many as 3 per game before the game. his knee , his back, ribs etc.
you would be right to say "yes" but that is the sport he is in but nobody forced him to do this he did it to get on the field and play.
you can question his ability, that is your opinion but his loyalty , i know for a fact where that lies and always has done. even when he wasn't playing for the club he probably attended more matches home and away than many of our supporters.as far as him shafting people is concerned ,he could have had more money and more bonuses going elsewhere. the measure of the lad can be taken by his populaity with the rest of his team mates at wakefield and the fans . at the last home game i watched on the pitch as he was mobbed by the fans queing up for pictures , autographs etc whist jk . morro and some of the others had 2 or 3 maybe half a dozen round them. he was the last player to leave the field. so when you refer to him as a shafter, you have got that one wrong. at the moment korki has a few options. imo he is one of the longest serving foriegn players in sl along with bj. over the years i think we have had good service from korki and he doesn't deserve the comments you are making. i am sure whatever happens to korki, we will still be seeing a lot of him at wakey but one thing is for sure he won't be coming from batley.
