Opus submitting OUTLINE planning permission soon, when that is granted the money is given to Cas - outline planning permission can be given with a list of things that need changing for it to obtain full PP, which is what happened on the Glasshoughton site.
Technically yes, HTH.'"
So Opus are giving Cas the full amount for Wheldon Road if OUTLINE planing permission is granted? yet it could still take years for a actual supermarket to be built on the site? do they drink evian water backwards at Opus??

Some talk of Bradford Northern and some of Hull and Leeds
Of Wigan and St Helens and such great teams as these
Of all the teams in Rugby league with me you will agree
The best team in the whole wide world is Wakefield Trinity!

| I'm adamant I'm not getting into a debate regarding CT, but I just want to clear up a point in your post.
Opus, like other developers (a point which I think alludes most CT fans- as it has been carefully left out of press releases) are bidding to build a supermarket in Castleford town .
Most CT fans think it's as simple as someone wants to build a store on their ground, and when the council says they can they will build the new stadium at GH. It's far from that simple. As I said there are other developers, with other sites in & around WR and Castleford's wider . There is a tendering process going on with WMDC , the site they deem most appropriate will get the PP. It's far more complex than RW will have you believe.
Other developers and sites even have planning permission (I think this fact was stated on a recent press release), so to say it's just a matter of waiting is naive, at best. It may go your way, then again you may end up back at the drawing board in 6-8 months, sound familiar WT fans, yet another reason to put down the mud balls!
That said I wish you all the best &,hope to see a day in the not too distant future when were both playing in new stadiums, although the mud I will sling is; from the plans ours is better & our sites as a whole are as different as champagne & carbonated urine. I dare say CT will come begging, not for the stadium, but 100% for the training facilities- which as residents of Wakefield they have as much right to use (and pay for) as we do!
Let the stadium race continue, I know who my wongas on!

"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39793.jpg |
