| Quote W.T.W="W.T.W"I know its each to their own, but we have;
- A new owner (for pre season)
- Got a Franchise
- Cheap season ticket offers
- Players coming into the squad with quality behind them.
- And the Re-developement of Belle Vue
and you're turning your back on the club because of the appointment of Richard Agar?
Personally i think you're being slightly judgemental of Agar before hes even coached a game with us.'"
Not the fans 1st choice, and not a brill track record at Hull, but we have to judge him on merit, if after 5 games into next season and we are bottom we can then say "told you so", Personally can't see him lasting 3 years, a lot will be expected of him with the players we are recruiting, Anyway Welcome to Wakefield Richard and i hope you prove the doubters wrong

| Quote The Devil's Advocate="The Devil's Advocate"As I alluded to, the new regime has facilitated big changes at the club, if Kath & Co were still at the helm then, so would Agar.
Whilst many have spouted their vitriol regarding Agar, not many have pointed a finger at the Board. Let’s be fair, with the support the club gets you should be up there with the Wigan’s, St’s & Warringtons of this world. The majority of Hull fans believe Agar is the single handed reason for the lack of success, only time will tell, however, player recruitment isn’t always just down to the Coach.
You’ve gone from Aussies, to Brits & probably back to another Aussie, but the limited success (by your aspirations) isn’t all down to one man.'"
Very good post DA. You are probably right in your assumption that Agar would still be at Hull next season if a change of board never happened. Agar was one of many problems within the club and the board were happy with mediocrity as long as the cash still come tumbling in. Agar takes the brunt of the blame for the simple reason that everyone could see were we were going wrong on the pitch yet he never did anything to rectify it. He has a habit of sticking with tried/tested and failed partnerships rather than try something different. He is not solely to blame but he does have to take a large chunk of the blame at the same time.
I hope he goes well for you lot and a change of club and board may well help him to achieve that. You have had enough recently you deserve a break and some good fortune.

| Well RA's got my full backing.
Welcome aboard the roller coaster that is Trin.
Richard Agar may not have been everyone's first choice, not even mine, but at least I admit I wasn't part of the recruitment process so I don't know how he or the other candidates performed or what has been said. I've been involved in interviewing and employing enough people to know that it not always the obvious choice who makes the best apopintment. Often many outside people thought that a particular job was "nailed on" for someone and were shocked when they weren't appointed, but after some time they had to admit the right person did get the job. So let's give Richard Agar that time and our support - it may be that he is just the person for us.
Together we are stronger.

I don’t think we are John Kear deserves a bloody medal for all the crap he has had to put up with in the last 2 seasons lesser men would have walked away
If Agar was the best on offer I would have kept John Kear at the club and let him build a new squad let’s not forget it was John Kear who took the club to 5th 3 seasons ago and had us at the top of the league early last season
Was it his fault Ref Newton and Tronc was it his fault we lost Brough was it his fault the Richardsons ran the club into the ground.
For my money he has had a very raw deal if this is what it has come to
Can’t see us selling the 2500 tickets now wish I could turn the clock back 35 years and followed my dad to support my home town club. but I can’t do that so it looks like I am stuck with this bloody club it’s become a love hate thing
new board same old crap jobs for the boys is the feeling I get with this appointment

I'm sure the vast majority of fans would have had Kear over Agar given that choice. Certainly a backward step when you measure like for like. Think we would've done the 2500 too, with Kear and an improved squad.
I cannot remember a similar situation in the past when we have gone so instantly backwards on the coaching appointment. Maybe Len Casey to Tony Dean?

You are fully entitled to your opinion but I have no prblem with this appointment, RA has took some stick from Hull fans but he has the upmost respect from the players. This will work out to be a good appointment as far as I am concerned and for these reasons I totaly disagree with you and I expect at the price offered that we will sell 2500 season tickets, signings to come will have an influence I am sure.
For anyone that doesnt want to go another SL club is about 8 miles this way.

| Quote Kosh="Kosh"I would say that he's a good coach but not yet a head coach. He's consistently had the support of the players and gets good feedback [ias a coach[/i from pretty much everyone who knows him within RL. For some reason he just can't get the whole package working on the pitch consistently enough. His tactics are often odd and his bench/rotation strategy occasionally bizarre, but he's nowhere near as bad as some would make out.
As I've said elsewhere, after 7 years at Hull this move might be just what he needs to kick on. He certainly won't be a disaster for you and you'll get bags of determination and effort from him and his players. I wish him well.'"
Completely agree with this.
he is not an awful coach...but he is a coach that will see finishing in 8th place as like doing the CC and League double. For HullFC that isn't good enough given the resources we have, whether its good enough for Wakefield (until you get your new ground and increase your income) is another debate.

| I haven't bought a season ticket for the last 2 years having been a season ticket holder for a long time prior to that. I have to say that this appointment will not be prompting me to get 1 for next year either. This is the first setback for me of the AG rein as it doesn't demonstrate any ambition going forward at the coaching level, it is a 'safe' option. If we were happy to go with safe options I would have preferred John Kear to have been given the luxury that he never had in all of his time at Wakefield and build a team from a sound financial backing. I'm sure he would have been at least as successful as Richard Agar is likely to be.

| Im gutted about this appointment, if agars the best man for the job then theres some very poor candidates out there. I wonder who his main rivals were, mickey mouse and mike bassett must have been 2 of the candidates. Anyone serious believe that this will improve the club????
