Everyone is entitled to an opinion but maybe you should get your facts right first....
Barry has been awarded a 3 month testimonial by The RFL for "services to the game over 20 years".
He has been a loyal and decicated servant to all of the clubs he's played for (look at his playing/scoring record at Dewsbury and Batley for example) and I doubt he's ever moved on for financial reasons but purely to continue playing/working when contracts have expired.
The game should respect loyal servants and remember that not everyone is on Super League salaries and all that goes with that, its a job/career/ even a second job to many and in these cases testimonials are hard earned and fully deserved.

I'd agree with that. I'd also assume he's been paid for much of his career, so I don't really get the need for a testimonial unless it all goes to charity in which case good on him. | | |
