Great little player was steven, played against him, a few times for Crigg.

I played in the 1979 curtain raiser when Trinity played Widnes. Must say it was one of the best rugby playing days of my life. Its a real shame that the BBC dont show it anymore!
I think Sky would do a better job of broadcasting the whole day even though I dont subscribe

No one who saw the TV coverage of the little guy bursting into tears will ever forget it. I still have a photo of the whole schoolboy team on the balcony of the town hall after they arrived back in the open topped coach along with the Trinity team.

I remember the little fella and the try at wembley as if it was yesterday,god bless him.
