operation aside, is he better than what we have now?
Yes, IMO.
Therefore regardless of whatever people think of him he should be signed if he is available. He has been a great servant to the game and is still a very good strong centre.
His experience alone should count for something.
I would take him every day of the week

I honestly dont know. But he would raise standards as a good pro and would do a good job in the back row (not as a centre) on the right money. Hmmm?
